How it all Started
The handbag insanity began back in March of 2004. The search for a new spring bag that would be unique and still
versatile led to hours of department store shopping and no results. Inspiration struck, followed by a trip to the fabric
store, and the original Spunky Bag was made. After co-workers and total strangers commented on that bag, an idea was
born. What if we could make these and people would actually buy them?
Next thing we knew, it seemed like we were making bags as birthday gifts and Mother's Day presents. The fabric
bug bit us and the spare bedroom was turned into a full on hand bag production center. Bits of thread and pins and fabric
swatches decorated the apartment. Bag after bag was constructed in anticipation of the first craft show to the public
in September 2004.
Friends and family members saw them and a small idea started to grow. Inspired by the response at that initial
craft show, we began to think big and into the future. This website is part of that plan as a way to bring our fun product
to the global marketplace.
What's Next?
We are always adding new styles and fabric combinations. Right now, we are focused on creating a Spunky Bag line
for the Spring. Also in the works are new bag styles with a zipper closure and maybe even a diaper bag.
We hope to book larger craft shows in 2005 and maybe even branch into wholesale sales opportunities. If you are
